The Solar Lighting portion of our project has recently been concluded. A shipment of 1150 lights is scheduled to arrive in Karachi in about 20 days. Updates will be here as soon as we get information. Thank you so much to each person who helped out with this part of the project each step of the way. We could not have accomplished this without you.
The world is a precious resource. Within it are many other resources, all just as precious - trees, water, oil land, soil, coal, aluminum and most importantly, humans. Right now, just as aluminum is being wasted and disposed along with styrofoam and plastic in landfills around the world, human beings are often taken advantage of. While noble feats are being upheld in order to preserve our icecaps and make use of new, energy-saving technology, we must also preseve humankind, and the development of people.
The Solar Lighting branch of our project is truly unique. Mark Bent, a visionary within the community, created the organization SunNight Solar. Through it, we were able to send solar-powered flashlights to the Kashmir region. This will be beneficial in two major ways:
- Lighting in school buildings
- Studying at night (more productivity)
